Back On The Horse

Hello again, everyone!

For those of you less informed, I have just spent three weeks in US custody. Two in a county jail, and one in a federal detention centre. It was proper incarceration, courtesy of The Agency Group and their failure to provide me with the correct travel documents for my September tour in 2011. The moment they heard the news, they removed me from their list of clients and never communicated with me again. I’m not one to set fire to people’s reputations, but wow, I was unimpressed with these people to put it mildly.

I’m terribly sorry that we couldn’t finish the tour, folks. What a tragedy. I’m busy compiling a full write-up of what happened and a detailed account of my difficult experiences in the slammer. In the mean time, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to the many people who offered me their support. My mother took it upon herself to keep everyone up to date on Facebook, the forums have been writhing with outrage, Jessica Terry at the New Zealand Consulate in New York went to great lengths to expedite my deportation, and I received an innumerable amount of letters from everybody that brought me much joy in an emotionally arduous time of my life. Thank you so much, everybody. I hope to have everything back to normal within the next few days!

Absolutely infuriating. I, too, hope things get back to normal soon. Thank you for being a real champ about this.

What about the consequences of being deported? What happens with your plans of moving to SF etc? Are you ever allowed back in to the U.S.?

  5. Renwin says:

Well, it’s good to here that you’re ok though. Seem like that organization just left you for dead to the officials, but you’re not arrested for good. So all in all, that’s good to hear they let you out and everything.

  6. I am SO SORRY. Shame on The Agency Group! I hope they are being bombarded with guilt! I can’t believe they just dropped you like that and didn’t try to help you out! I’m so glad you’re out of there. I…oh my gosh there are no words to describe how angry I am about the situation. It is simply preposterous!

  7. Argh, i can’t imagine how bad it would have been, if you would stay there “a bit longer”…

    No Remixes…! ;-)

  8. Peter says:

Sorry about your terrible experience. I wish I could have seen you perform live! Better luck next time!

  9. Paul says:

    Welcome back, Nick!

  10. Sphax says:

    WTF!!
    I don’t understand how that’s possible!
3 weeks in jail for this reason it’s crazy!
I’m also glad you could back home!
It’s a shame! I hope it’s the last time you have problem while touring, because we definitly want to see you live here in France!
Take care and give some feedback quickly!

  11. Chi-Wen says:

Oh my goodness. Glad you got back safely!

  12. Ben says:

Pogo the ex-con. Has a ring to it, I suppose.

As an American, I’m so sorry about your troubles. We’ve missed you!

  13. Chris says:

Oh my god, that’s dreadful! So sorry to hear about that, but glad you’re back and alright.

  14. Wesley says:

    Welcome back!!

  15. Nearshot says:

:O im so sorry that happened to you! Ugh, make me ashamed of my country a bit. Glad you’re safe!

So glad to hear that you’ve safely returned home.

  17. Bekky says:

Was really glad to hear you got home safely. Take care and make sure you’re rested before doing much work :)

That agency needs a damn good flogging though!

  18. Austen says:

Great to hear you home and well!! Take care man and can’t wait to eventually see you live someday.

  19. Dave says:

This is the best news I’ve heard all day! I’m happy to hear your back home, safe and sound :D

  20. CD says:

While i’m all the more glad i got to see you on the first leg of your tour when you hit the Black Cat, i’m embarassed as a citizen you had to go through this shit. Please don’t hold it against the rest of us, and come back soon! Yours is still one of the most enjoyable DJ nights i’ve experienced in a long, long time.

  21. jean-paul says:

    hi Pogo,
we hope to see you continue your tour in Europe, particularly in France.
    we love and support you.

  22. SL says:

This is my first time hearing of this, not as active on Twitter. Very sorry to hear what happened man. The fact that it occurred during travel just makes the situation worse.

Must feel great to be back home. Best thing about all this- you’re now the Infamous Pogo. ;]

  23. dpantsin says:

Man, I’m glad to hear your back but I’m really upset for what happened to you. Does this mean you’ll never get a chance to play in the U.S.A again? Hopefully you do, (even though it’d be understandable if you never want to come back again).

  24. Jacque006 says:

Wow, I was wondering why your show in Denver was canceled. Glad to hear you made it back safely.

  25. Nicki says:

Four words: Fuck The Agency Group.
    I’m so glad you’re back!

  26. Chaostoon says:

Welcome home, Nick. Glad you’re back.
