EA is apparently working on a third game in the Army of Two series, titled Army of Four. Go on, guess how many players the obligatory co-op mode will support. That's right.
The news comes care of a Kotaku source, presumably the same chap who rumoured yesterday that a Dead Space FPS is in the works. Army of Four will run on Battlefield 3's Frostbite 2 engine, in a further indication that DICE's earth-shattering technology is now the publisher's middleware of choice.
A third-person shooter starring large, angry mercenaries in hockey masks, Army of Two attracted an OXM 7/10 for its "surpassingly good" multiplayer and slick moves. It went on to place strongly but unspectacularly in software sales charts. The sequel, Army of Two: The 40th Day, managed an 8/10.
Can EA continue that upward trajectory? Or is Army of Two all worn out?

At the end of 40th day you either kill your partner or blow up shanghai so I would think if there would have to be a sequal then we would either have to play as new charcters or choose the doom shanghai ending.
I really loved the gun customisation in army of two even though there was less guns in 40th day i really enjoyed pimping out my guns and adding bayonets and shields thats a must for a returning factor.

I thought the four player co-op really spoiled GoW3, it just made you feel like you were often a bit detached from the action as the AI/other players are all going around and doing their own thing.
I hope they can make an amazing game in spite of this 'revelation'.

I think they will just go on from the ending where both of them survive. or have entirely new characters. But i will only be getting it if Rios and Salem are in it. As for the story i think they should use one of their original ideas for the first army of two, the one where there is this terrorist guy who has a billion dollar bounty on his head and it becomes a free for all between hundreds of different mercenary groups to gain the bounty, with Salem and Rios in the middle of it all.
Could this also be the secret Bioware game thats being made. Just a theory.

Well if there is going to be a third army of two I just cant wait for it, thought that the first and second were amazing. You kinda had 4 player co-op in the multiplayer when the teams had four players pitted against another four.
If this is the game bioware is secretly making I really dont want them doing it. I wonder what country it could be set in, I'd say someone where in europe of like the first all around the place.
