Plants All Around Us (KG1 and KG2)
This programme includes a presentation on the parts of a plant and on what plants need to grow. There will be activities based on labeling and growing plants. The children will take a tour of the zoo looking at the Children’s Garden and, of course, all the other amazing plants and animals we have on exhibit.
Animal Babies (KG1 and KG2)
The children will be shown a presentation on animals and their babies, followed by an activity matching animals to their young. There will be a tour of the zoo looking at our young and adult animals.
How do I move? (KG1 and KG2)
This programme includes a presentation on how some of the different animals in the zoo move. The tour of the zoo will focus on looking at how animals move.
What am I covered with? (KG1 and KG2)
The presentation will introduce children to what our animals are covered with such as fur, feathers and scales, and will include the opportunity to handle some real animal artefacts. During our tour we will look for animals that have fur, feathers and scales.
Animals need a home (KG1 to Grade 2)
Children will learn about where different kinds of animals live and will match animals to their homes. In the zoo we will look at the animals’ homes.
Animals all around us (KG1 to Grade 2)
In this programme children will learn about different types of animals – pets, farm animals and wild animals, and with their friends they will sort animals into the different groups. The tour of the zoo will include some of the animals they met in the presentation.
