Very Relentless.

This is a strange and scary mini-album, it really is. It completely removes all the 'pop' aspects and melodies and essentially everything that the Pet Shop Boys has been known for, and instead dives headfirst into dubby techno, sounding live a mass-up rave, dragging itself into a German disco in Berlin in 1993.

This album was supposed to be known for it's 'experimental' and 'instrumental'-ness, but truth be told, Forever In Love could be turned into an epic, PSB pop song if it really tried. And for such an unorothdox album, it definitely could've used more Chris than Neil. Chris would suit it better, with that low, Lancashire voice of his.

And if this album had been released today, you could think of it as a cousin to the 'Disco' series. Though that in itself is not necessarily a good thing, because the album essentially turned into Disco 2, which is something we'd probably all prefer to forget.

It should also be said that, apart from the original Forever in Love appearing on Very / Further Listening 1992-1994, none of these songs have had an appearance on any other album, to date.

Relentless was originally part of the Very album, in limited quantities, and came in a bumpy pink album cover, with mini superimposed images of Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant donning their 'Very' costumes on the cover.

Remember folks, it's because of this that Disco 2 happened.

The only Disco album I have is the first one, but I do think that Relentless is fantastic, especially compared to Very.
