The Rock Yo Hips dance was featured in the music video of the same name by performers Crime Mob. The dance is extremely simple and utilizes rocking/gyrations of the hips almost exclusively. The hip motions are performed while moving in place or with some forward and backwards motion.
The dance and song are heavily rooted in the Southern Hip Hop styling. The song was released in 2007 and peaked at Number 31 on the Billboard 200, causing the dance to rise in popularity with the song.
To perform the dance, begin by standing with your feet about shoulder width apart. Next, begin gyrating your hips from side to side. Perform waving motions of your arms, while continuing to rock your hips. For variation, you can perform body dips or circular gyrations, as desired.
