About Me

Heading up the WLKY Local Voices team is a natural next move for Rick Redding, who has been observing and writing about what's happening in his hometown, in one way or another, for two decades.

Based on his work as the founder of the website, TheVilleVoice, Redding was named by Louisville magazine as the city's best blogger in its 2008 "Best Of" issue. The site was also recognized by LEO readers as Best News Blog in 2009. He moved over to develop a news operation for LouisvilleMojo in 2009, overseeing a team of more than a dozen active bloggers and attracting record numbers of readers to the site.

At WLKY, Redding will write about many of the same topics that made his earlier blogs must-reads in the city -- local politics, media, sports, business and anything else that makes him say "That's cool."

Redding is a media veteran in Louisville. He has written regularly for Business First (1996-1999) and LEO (2005-2008) and appeared on numerous television and radio broadcasts. He was a regular guest on morning shows at the CW and WDRB-TV, as well as 84WHAS Radio.

In addition, Redding teaches a course in Public Speaking at Louisville's Brown Mackie College.

If you want to get in touch, just respond here on the Local Voices website. You can also follow his antics in the social media world on Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. Just look him up.
