Vizada signs a 10-year IP ground-based satellite agreement with Telenor Satellite Broadcasting

(Oslo, December 3, 2008) Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) and Vizada Networks today announced that they signed a 10-year multipart agreement for the provision of antenna, hosting and network management services from Telenor Satellite Broadcasting’s largest teleport, Nittedal, located near Oslo, Norway.

The agreement will provide Vizada Networks with C and Ku band ground segment services to support their customers including NATO and the World Health Organisation (WHO), in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

From the Nittedal teleport, Telenor Satellite Broadcasting can operate satellites in the viewable arc from 45 degrees west 66 degrees east, which covers one-third of the world’s satellites. As part of the agreement, Telenor Satellite Broadcasting has acquired responsibility and ownership for the previous Vizada-owned antennas, located at the Nittedal teleport. Telenor Satellite Broadcasting will with immediate effect manage and operate all associated services on these antennas.
