Hi, all.  Last week there were many comments about porn/online porn.  I thought I’d share this article I came across at the NCRegister by Simcha Fisher:

http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/pornography-addiction-documented

Seems like one way of shedding light and truth on the darkness of this scourge.
Prayers come with this for all marriages touched by this evil…St.Michael, protect us!

Good morning ladies. I just wanted to let you know that I finally got DH to attend a Retrouvaille retreat with me and it was very helpful in so many ways. If you are struggling in your marriage, please look into it.

I’m so glad to hear that!  Prayers for continuing improvement.

Awesome news!

I am so glad to hear that you went to Retrouvaille.  My husband and I went 11 years ago and it was the best thing we did for our marriage.  Retrouvaille impacted us so much that we are still apart of the program.  We will continue to pray for your marriage as we pray for marriages everyday.

Hello ladies,
Just asking for some prayers.

I recently returned to work after maternity leave and my hubby is in a new position that is extremely demanding. He’s not getting home until 8pm most nights and just exhausted so he goes right to bed.

I’m so grateful we both have good jobs, but I’m starting to feel like a single mother and mix that in with the emotional stress/guilt of going back to work, it’s starting to wear me down. I’m breastfeeding (i.e. pumping constantly) and we don’t have family nearby.

I know this is so small compared to what others are going through, but it’s just taking a toll on me, and our marriage. I feel very alone and feel like anytime I get a chance to talk to my husband, one of us is so exhausted or busy that we haven’t really connected in weeks. He also doesn’t realize how demanding being a working mom is (I don’t blame him—he’s not available to tend to all the baby’s needs, so he’s just kinda unaware of how much I do on a daily basis).
I would really appreciate an extra prayer today- thank you ladies so much!

Praying for you. May God grant you strength and health and pour down many gracious blessings upon you. May He hold you in the palm of His hand and may you feel His continuing presence every hour of the day. May He bless your family with good things and fill your hearts with joy. May He strengthen you with every good gift and place peace upon your heart. May He hold you in the palm of His hand and provide for your every need. Amen.

That’s a lot.  Hang in there! Prayers that something will give and it won’t be you.

I have said a prayer for you. communication is key.  I pray God will give you both a way to make time for eachother. May he open the doors for you both to find the help you need, a sitter or a mother’s helper for starts and time to make your relationship a priority.  Time to put God at the center of your marriage so that you will have the Grace to put eachother and your child’s needs first. When I had my kids I had to admit I could not work full time and be a wife and mother. I didn’t have help from family and despite the financial sacrifices we had to make, I don’t regret choosing to stay home with my kids.(worked part time and then not at all) . If you both need to work I know God will show you what you need to to do ,to stayclose to Him and eachother. Keep praying.God will find a way! Do you have anyone you can counsel with? A priest or professional that can guide you and your family through these new stressful transitions.

Couple Chat is maybe not the best place for this question, but does anyone have a suggestion for a good novena for pregnancy, and / or preparation for pregnancy?

Novena to St. Gerard. I don’t have a specific link, but I’m sure there’s more than one out there. He is the ‘go to’ saint for pregnancy and mothers. (ha—and the verification word is ‘together’)

My friend just sent me this link!  It has a couple novenas for pregnancy, to St. Gianna and to Bl. JP II. http://becomewhatyouare.wordpress.com/novena-to-st-gianna/
