More Homework for You

Faith & Family wants to hear from you!

It’s time to do your Faith & Family homework again. Send along your (short!) answers to the question below and you might just see your words of wisdom published in a future issue of the magazine!

Say What?
How do you simplify Christmas gift-giving at large family gatherings?

Send me your answers or comment here. Please! Thank you!

Blessings in Disguise

Faith & Family writer seeks your input

Faith & Family senior writer Lori Hadacek Chaplin writes:

“This spring our baby, Maximilian, was diagnosed with a birth defect called Craniosynostosis. At 6 months, he had surgery and he now wears a helmet.

This was a very trying time for our family. However, there were many blessings that came about because of his birth defect. I’m looking to interview three mothers who have also had unsuspected blessings that came about because their child was/is seriously ill or has a birth defect for an article that will be published in Faith & Family magazine.”

If you have something to share with Lori, please leave a comment here with your email address (won’t be published) in the comment form or send me a note at editor@faithandfamilylive.com and I will see that it gets to her. Thanks!

Are You Missing a Piece of Faith & Family?

Take advantage of all we have to offer!

I am so grateful you are here.

I have said many times that the readers here at Faith & Family Live are an integral part of our value. It’s your participation and your contributions that make Faith & Family Live the supportive, educational, and encouraging community it is. I really value what we have created here together and I know that many of you do too.

But are you missing out on more of what Faith & Family has to offer?

This website is only made possible with the financial backing of subscribers to Faith & Family magazine. We don’t make money here. We don’t even break even. Faith & Family is happy to provide this website as a service to our readers and to the Church, but we hope that you will consider supporting our efforts through a subscription to the print magazine.

In each issue of Faith & Family magazine, you get something we can’t give you here online—longer, in-depth feature articles, stunning photography, beautiful layouts, and hundreds of tips, ideas, and inspiration for Catholic family living. We want to support you in all aspects of Catholic family life and we don’t want you to miss out on any of what Faith & Family has to offer.

If you are not yet a subscriber, won’t you consider subscribing today? If you are already a subscriber, perhaps you will consider a renewal or a gift subscription as a means of supporting our online efforts.

We are deeply grateful for any way you can support Faith & Family Live, but most of all for your presence and participation in the Faith & Family “family.” You are what makes us great. Thank you for being here.

Christmas in August?

Faith & Family senior writer Lori Hadacek Chaplin is working on our annual Christmas gift guide, and she would like your input.

I would like to include a section in my Christmas Gift Guide article which includes suggestions from FF readers about gift ideas which cost nothing or only a few dollars. I don’t want my guide to seems too materialistic, and I am hoping that someone will have some interesting ideas beyond baking Christmas cookies as gifts.

Please leave your inexpensive Christmas gift ideas in the comments!

Show Off Your Family & Your Kids' Art Work

Faith & Family wants your contributions!

We are collecting submissions of two different kinds for the Family Page in Faith & Family magazine.

1. Family Photos Send us a photo of your whole family and you might just find your lovely selves published in Faith & Family. If we use your photo, we will ask for your names, as well as a few other details about your family to share with readers.

2. Kids’ Art Work We’d love to show off your kids’ drawings. Have them create a masterpiece featuring a theme from the liturgical year. For this fall issue, please send us drawings of autumn feast days or saints whose feast days we celebrate in fall (the archangels, St. Therese, St. Francis, etc.)

For both kinds of submissions, please scan your image .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). I am looking forward to your fabulous photos and beautiful drawings!

Faith & Family wants to hear from you

It’s time to do your Faith & Family homework again. Send along your (short!) answers to the question below and you might just see your words of wisdom published in a future issue of the magazine!

Faith & Family at Google+

Join us!

I have been playing around with Google+ as much as time will allow in recent days, and so far, I really like what I see. I especially enjoy seeing some familiar Faith & Family faces when they pop up over there.

I know from Lisa’s recent post that some of you are experimenting with this latest form of social media as well. As I was creating different circles over the weekend, I thought it might be nice to gather a list of Faith & Family moms on Google+ so that we could connect with one another.

If you are over at Google+ and would like to be part of the Faith & Family list, please leave a comment on the Google+ post. That way, anyone who would like to form a “Faith & Family” circle at Google+ will be able to scroll through the list, right-click on names, and add them to their circle.

Thanks and see you there!

Do Your Kids Have Some Art to Share?

Faith & Family is seeking submissions

Would your kids like to see their art work published in Faith & Family magazine?

We’re seeking for submissions for the Playroom page of our summer issue. We’d love to have some drawings or other art work featuring feast days and special saints for the months of July and August.

Some ideas include Maria Goretti, Kateri Tekakwitha, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Assumption, and Maximilian Kolbe ... but there are lots more!

To send us a submission, scan the art work, and then email it to me at danielle@daniellebean.com along with your child’s name, age, and hometown. All ages are welcome to participate.

I can’t wait to see what you send!

Boy Scouts? Girl Scouts? Something Else?

Faith & Family wants to hear from you!

Faith & Family writer Margaret Berns is working on a magazine story featuring Catholic families and their participation in scouting programs.

Does your family participate in boy scouts, girl scouts, or some other alternative program?

Would you be willing to share your decisions and experiences (the good, the bad, and the ugly!) with her for the story she’s working on? If so, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) directly. Thanks!
