Armstrong, who is also the show's composer and co-author, will return to the role he created as St. Jimmy on April 5 through closing night on April 24, the producers announced Thursday.
The show will have logged 421 performances and 27 previews during its yearlong run at the St. James Theatre. It won two Tony awards and this year's Grammy award for best musical show album.
