Servers have been up and down all night on the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3.
The game launched in North America yesterday, but despite a beta test which publisher EA says was downloaded 9.5 million times on all platforms, it appears players have been struggling to get into multiplayer games.
Despite the offical Battlefield Twitter account declaring the problems resolved six hours ago, gamers continue to report problems on Twitter and forums. Some users are also struggling with the Battlelog service.
The most recent official update says maintenance is ongoing, and that servers should be back online shortly. Battlefield 3 will be released in Europe for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 on Friday.

6yes.. its very irritating... Im having problems with my xbox elite.. it keeps freezing during loading on multi player maps. Yet earlier before I got home a received these problems.. I was at my friends house on his xbox and had a couple connection errors.. but that was it. and as far as battle log goes, its having problems registering my email... guess im going back to my friends house and camping it out there for a week to get on some game play/no inconveniences. P.s I have no Idea why my XBOX (elite) freezing up, ive tried everything from cleaning my xbox, the lens, air can cleaning it.. I might be problems with my laser reading the disk. idk any suggestions?
Have you tried installing the game on your HDD? That would help identify whether it's a laser reader problem, would it not...?
[img][/img]yeah totally forgot about that.. im gonna install it and see if theres any success .....yeah I just tried installing it.. it cant go past 20% installation without saying disc unreadable. and theres nothing wrong with the disc at all.. its a day old.. lol so I have no idea.. fuck my piece of shit xbox elite.
I had the odd brand new disc fail to read on my old Elite. Give it a few more tries. It'll probably take when it feels like it. That console isn't my main one anymore but it's still soldiering on.
My pre-order was despatched yesterday. With mixed reviews and now hearing of server problems I'm getting truly worried about this game.
I've had nothing but problems online with other EA 360 releases (FIFA 10, BF2 in particular were unplayable for a long time), and decided to give them one last chance with BF3. Make no mistake though, it really will be a last chance - if the servers aren't working come Friday I'll vow to never again buy another EA online MP focused title. I'm sure they wouldn't have these problems if they just used XBL MS servers like every other developer....

DICE/EA release a BF game, then the servers keel over and EA say "We have been overwhelmed by the unexpected demand and we are desperately working to get more servers up and running."
It's like showing The Great Escape at Christmas or The Two Ronnies Christmas repeats.
