I don't know why I do things like this.
Looking to get a PS3 and toying with ditching V+ and getting Play TV so I have one box under the TV and trim my Virgin monthly bill a bit too (recently got a digital aerial installed with multiple feeds off it). The stuff the wife records is largely availble on the main channels catch up services so the recording doesn't have to be undustrial strength,
Anyhow, asked GAME staffer for a price - didn't know what Play TV was in the first place - disappeared into the GAME cave for 5 mins and came back saying that it came out about 8 years ago and they didn't have it in stock. I smiled, thanked her for the help and left.

yeah - naively thought that I might have got a deal on getting a 320GB console and Play TV instead of some games I've no interest in. Got the wife-proof remote from Amazon so I have a remote and no console...
I used Play TV for a long time before getting Sky. I couldn't fault it at all. As for the Game cretin, I presume he meant the EyeToy.

You'd be lucky to find Play TV in Game, I've not seen one in years. It's not even listed on the website.

Play TV2 is apparently in the works yes.
Obviously a HD signal depends on when your area switches over to HD freeview.

Apparently, this has been available in Preston since Freeview HD launched. I don't think anyone ever told me. But I'm not buying a HD Virgin box to watch Doctor Who in HD.
I bought play tv in game when I got one as a trade in. 14.99 well spent. The recording thing is great, but ended up with a freeview hd box in the long run as I don't like the idea of the ps3 always being on. It's on quite a bit as it is.

We're also still waiting for cable, so no Virgin mega pipeline or tv for us.

Sky have just loaded the first series of Doctor Who (nu Dr.) onto their download service. Grabbed the first half of that series yesterday.
