Following the furore over CCP's introduction of a shop into EVE Online, the company has gone one step further to winning back the hearts (and wallets) of its fans. Players whose EVE accounts lapsed around the time of the incident have been offered, by email, a reduced subscription offer of $4.95 for 30 days. According to community co-ordinator Chris Priestly, the co-op missions will have a "direct impact on the outcome of the single player campaign, giving players an alternative method of achieving ultimate victory”. Capcom legend Keiji Inafune has announced Kaio, an action-RPG for 3DS from his new studio Intercept. Andriasang reports that Kai-Oh - which translates as Sea King - has multiplayer support and a pirate setting, though the main character is a penguin. More >

2UPDATE: Sony confirms promotion is US-only but "the majority of the content" will be released in Europe. A selection of "rare classic games" will be made available on the US PlayStation Store this week, according to Industry Gamers. The move is part of Only On PlayStation Network, Sony's bid to draw attention to the range of exclusive games available from its PlayStation 3 download store. On October 4, PS2 classics including Capcom's high-camp brawler God Hand and hack-and-slash title Maximo: Ghosts To Glory, Konami's strategy game Ring Of Red, and Vanillaware titles Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire will be released.
