Promote Catholic Media & Win An IPad 2

Help us spread the good news!

Have you heard the big news? Tomorrow, March 15, is “Catholic Media Promotion Day”.  This grassroots effort is designed to help spread the word about all of the great work being done in Catholic Media. To build buzz, a Facebook page has been created at Facebook.com/PromoteCatholicism and everyone who “likes” that page will be entered to win an iPad2.  But more importantly, you’ll be helping to spread the word about these media initiatives.

Tomorrow, we’re asking you to support and promote Catholic media in the following ways:

  • If you have a blog, podcast or Facebook page, share links to your favorite three blogs, podcasts, Catholic media outlets, and three other Catholic “gems” online
  • Go to iTunes and leave positive reviews for your three favorite Catholic podcasts and Catholic apps
  • Email your family, friends, fellow parishioners and contacts with the good news about your favorite three blogs, podcasts, Catholic media outlets, and three other Catholic “gems” online
  • Contact your local newspaper and tell them about Catholic Media Promotion Day, sharing the good news about media initiatives that are supporting the work of the Church
  • As your local parish to list Catholic podcasts, blogs, apps, and other media initiatives, and offer a few great suggestions to help them get started - volunteer to be a “Catholic Media Liaison” for your parish by supplying this information in the bulletin on a regular basis
  • Consider starting your own blog or podcast and share your faith using Facebook, Twitter and other new media technologies
  • Pray for all of those involved in Catholic media, that the good news of the Gospel may be spread in new and exciting ways, reaching out to the ends of the earth

Working together, we’ll make a big splash tomorrow, March 15 on Catholic Media Promotion Day.  So be sure to head to Facebook.com/PromoteCatholicism, “like the page” and start planning for tomorrow!

But I gave up facebook for lent…

Me, too. I gave up FB among other things. And so far, it’s worth it. I wouldn’t have won anyway, lol!

Gah! Me too! Oh well…. I’ll still promote my Faith, tho! Great idea, btw!

I gave up FB too and I’m starting to realize just how much I use FB for on a daily basis.

Same here, gave up FB for Lent.

For those who have given up Facebook for lent, please see the other ways that you can help support this effort - we’d love it if you could blog, email, or even put an announcement in your parish bulletin about your favorite websites (especially Faithandfamilylive.com) and magazines (Like Faith & Family!).  We need all the help we can get!

yeah, they picked a rotten time of the year to do this, considering a lot of faithful cathoclics gave up either FB or the internet for Lent. Maybe next time they will get it right.

Michelle, thanks for chiming in with your suggestion.  Since this is the first time around, it’s a learning experience.  But we’re hoping that everyone will still participate even if they are not on Facebook - many aren’t but there are still plenty of ways to help through email, personal blogs, local media and even parish bulletins.  Thanks!

I deactivated my FB account a long time ago but I have two blogs so I will blog there.  I’ll email our parish webmaster about putting something on our parish website too. I really enjoy and receive a lot of encouragement and ideas from various Catholic media outlets, so I really want to promote this day!

I don’t have a blog, but I did not give FB up, it is a real positive in my life so I don’t think it would be much of a sacrifice, so I will do as much as I can, I can’t wait to see what pops up tomorrow!

Apparently not everyone gave up fb for lent because so far over 1600 people like that page! I will definitely be promoting Catholic Media, my husbands job is creating online courses!

posted about it on my blog today

I prayed for all of those involved in Catholic media, that the good news of the Gospel may be spread in new and exciting ways, reaching out to the ends of the earth. Please enter me! Thank you! I will also spread news of this to people I know! I don’t have FB or a blog, but can spread the news in other ways.
