On Missing the Riots...

Exam errors a joke!

I dragged my son to see a really good Spanish film called Julia’s Eyes in London last week. The Guardian said it was a ‘thoughtful, creepy and effective Spanish thriller.’ I thought it was great in a Psycho kind of way with a lot of Spanish flair. My son, being less impressed, retaliated by forcing me to sit through The Hangover, again.

The dangers of over-protective parenting.

I must be a really bad parent. Twice in the last few days, I have found myself at odds with what appears to be the moral majority over at least two high profile parenting issues: The McCanns and Facebook.

BBC spoilt the royal wedding fun!

Poor Sam Cam......

I know we all complain about our husbands at times. And some women have more reason to complain than others. If I were Sam Cam, I would have told David to stop calling himself Dave a long time ago (it really is irritating). And I think I would be seriously considering why I had married him at all, if the best he could do for my 40th birthday was a cheap flight to Spain on Ryanair……..

Who cares what men are reading?

A week or so ago, I was ranting on about enjoying listening to TalkSport radio. It is not just a ‘bloke thing’, I said. Now I am starting to wonder if the gender divide issue is a bit more complex. Do men and women really have such different tastes and if they do are there some women who just are actually blokes? Me being one.

It's not just a bloke thing.

The most interesting news this week, apart from the new army legislation and which of my friends got flowers on Valentine’s Day, is the fact that Andy Gray and Richard Keys have joined talkSPORT radio. This is the UK radio station ‘for men who like to talk sport’. Actually it might be a blokish meander through footballing trivia, debates, phone-ins, jokes and controversial opinions but some women love it too….
