Voting Pro-Life

Today I went to the grocery store to buy some comfort food for a rainy afternoon (Cheez-its and Reese’s pieces if anyone was wondering).
Happy with my purchase I walked out the door and was greeted by young professionals who asked if I was a resident of the town. When I said yes, I was introduced to the local politician who was running for Town Council.
Now let me first say that I am not into politics,... READ MORE
Sibling Gifts

Once or twice a year all my siblings and I are in the same place.
Last weekend was one of those times. The six of us went out to dinner for my youngest sister’s birthday. We laughed so hard my stomach ached afterward, but my eyes also welled up a couple times as we shared stories and support and joy at being together.
What a gift my parents gave us in each other.
One of the hard things for me as... READ MORE
Is Faith Permitted To Have Consequences?

On October 5, in what some have called the most important religious liberty case in years, the Department of Justice argued before the Supreme Court that there should be no “ministerial exception” to anti-discrimination laws.
Stanford Law Professor Michael W. McConnell provides a good summary of the specific case here.
He also summarizes the issue. It’s always been assumed that Churches can choose... READ MORE

The Praying Family
Posted by Rachel Balducci in Family on Thursday, October 13, 2011 10:00 AM
Family prayers in our home has had a wide variety of configurations. Over the years, we have adjusted our approach based on the mathematical ratio of babies to toddlers to adults, factoring into the equation that (up until eighteen months ago) Child = boy (which many days felt the same as Child x 2).
We had to keep these details in mind in order to stay sane. Because I made the mistake, in the early... READ MORE

An Apple A Day
Posted by Rachel Balducci in Family on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 4:30 PM
My boys don’t always get around to eating an entire apple, and somedays I will find a few half-eaten Fuji’s resting around my kitchen counters.
The perfect solution (besides trying to track down the offending party and telling him to finish this apple!) is to cut up the remaining, oft dried-out fruit and throw into a saucepan of water. Add to that a few sticks of cinnamon and you have the perfect... READ MORE
So Simple, So Helpful

My mom came and helped for a couple weeks after the twins were born. She was great (as always) but one of the best things she did was give me an idea on her way out.
While here, Mom took over one of my smaller-but-no-less-annoying-for-being-small daily tasks: pouring cups of milk, juice, and water for my children. Camilla and Blaise are thirsty kiddos. I was not looking forward to taking this task... READ MORE
