Developer Playdead has announced PlayStation Network and PC launch dates for its multi award-winning platformer Limbo. Last year’s Xbox Live Arcade hit will arrive on the US PSN on July 19, in Europe the following day, and in Japan at a later date. It’ll release worldwide on Steam on August 2. In the announcement, Playdead CEO and co-founder Dino Patti teased a “little extra secret” in store for fans. He added: “Since we have gotten a lot of requests for the Limbo soundtrack, we are also making that available through iTunes, from this Monday (July 11th).” Originally released last July, Limbo was the most nominated title in the Game Developers Choice Awards earlier this year. In February, it won the Indie Game Challenge at the DICE conference in Las Vegas, where it also won the award for achievement in art direction. A runner-up in our own 2010 awards, for audio and visual design, we awarded the morbid, melancholy and darkly funny game a 9/10 review score.
