Symphony is a cross of muscat of Alexandria and grenache gris developed in California during the 1960s. The result? A wine that is very similar to muscat, with delicate floral notes and a mouth full of exotic fruit. There is just a hint of residual sugar on the finish and, as the grape doesn't have tons of acidity, it can be cloying if served warm. But at around 4 to 6°C, this is a delicious aperitif or perfect accompaniment to any hot and spicy food.
