Last-minute reprieve for Grimbergen The Belgian Government has overruled a decision by Flemish regional transport min ister Johan Sauwens to close Brussels' premier general-avia tion airfield at Grimbergen (Flight International, 2-8 Octo ber, 1991). The decision was taken by prime minister Wilfried Martens on 20 December. Last year the national Govern ment ceded all airfields to the Flemish and Walloon regional authorities, with only Brussels Airport at Zaventem remaining a national infrastructure. Follow ing this, the Flemish minister decided to close the airfield at Grimbergen, used mainly by Walloon (French-speaking) in habitants of the third region — Brussels — on the grounds that the aircraft noise had become an environmental problem. • ...... ln7onference and Exhibit^ nt I (Jl The ^hnu/raw for tho ••Vjll The Showcase for the International Training Equipment and Simulation Industry :IL-Trade Fair & Congress Center Luxembourg Themes for the 1992 conference: * The balance between realism and cost in simulation * The increasing emphasis on transforming military technology to commercial and industrial applications * To ensure that you receive up-to-date information on ITEC, send your business card or name, address and telephone/fax number to: International Training Equipment Conference Limited 10 Sambourne Road, Warminster .
