Hopes climb on gas deal
MEETINGS between the government and Noble Energy representatives yesterday ended on a high note with talk of getting results on drilling for natural gas by the end of the year.
President Demetris Christofias yesterday received at the Presidential Palace a delegation from the Texas-based company, headed by its Vice-President Rodney Cook. Earlier in the day the American delegation met with Commerce Minister Antonis Paschalides and others.
Noble has a concession to explore for hydrocarbons in an offshore field south-east of Cyprus, known as Block 12.
