Omonia recorded two defeats in as many games in the UEFA Futsal Cup Main Round Group 6 on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, at the mini tournament taking place at the Jezero Sports Hall in the Serbian city of Kragujevac.On the opening night Omonia lost to Ukrainian side Uragan Ivano-Frankovsk 6-4. Omonia facing court for bounced cheques

A FORMER Omonia Nicosia Football Club player is dragging the club to court after two cheques, meant to finalise the player’s owed wages, bounced. The Spaniard Jose Manuel Rueda Sampedro, who played for Omonia during the 2010 – 2011 season agreed to leave the club and be paid by cheque after an ongoing dispute with the club hierarchy. When Rueda tried to cash in the two cheques, dated July 15 for €37,650 and August 15 for €87,580 he found out that they had been recalled.The legal representation for the player said that its client was entitled to his accrued owed wages and that by recalling the cheques Omonia has conducted a criminal offence that would be dealt with in court. ...
