    i just finished this and i have to say its amazing. Although the difficulty is a bit exaggerated. As long as you dont hate puzzles you will be fine.

    Looks pretty cool, I like the use of anime and the anime style in-game graphics, gameplay looks interesting and I can hear classical music in the background. It looks like this game is made for me.

    Absolutely wrong, sir. You should play a bit of it before stating something so out of place at that.

    And AFTER playing the game I can say: the puzzles gets a bit repetitive sometimes, but the difficulty curve is well done. The story is deep, mature and is leaded by characters with a big dramatic force.

    It's the first time in years that I see a mature story like this without relying all the "mature" stuff into half-naked women and ultra-violence (Contents that I enjoy too, by the way), and it's really sad seeing so many people unable to see that and/or not taking this game serious (specially those that openly show they didn't even saw the game but had no problem in coming here and post fake statements about it).

    The bar scenes look a hell of a lot more fun than the horrid block puzzles I played in the demo - I appreciate Kevin being open to different kinds of games, but this was the WORST demo I have ever plauyed. No thanks!!!

    Rented this game... It was weird, but I liked that, too bad it just didn't immerse me, and believe me, I tried! I'm an anime fan and gamer, and still I couldn't get hard for it...

    I can't help but notice the whole Dionysian theme going on in this game...what with the satyr-esque horns and the whole "freedom" vs "order" thing, be it Apollo vs Dionysus as depicted in the Bacchae. Interesting thematic choices. I must say, with the whole classical repertoire and the imagery and themes borrowed from greek mythology, this is looking like a pretty artsy...interesting game. I don't know why I don't own this yet. I'll get to it ASAP.

    I wasn't sure about it at first but i think its gonna be a different and unique experience. That's why we all play games right!! Of course i will start wid easy difficulty

    Very unique and I can see why people would like it but after this review it looks way to hard and strange for me I think I will have to skip this one.

    8ball234- Thats what Ive been trying to say there were and are many great, original and unique japanese games that never got the exposure Catherine got. More exposure means more people would buy it but this game is not for everyone. Not that I personally hate the game or anything I think it shouldnt be gloried so much when its simply a unique puzzle game, there were better games of this genre that did'nt receive the praise it did. If gamespot respected every japanese anime based/type game the same then they'll be no problem but they dont its a double standard. In the end I dont listen to gamespot anyway I watch the gameplay and decide if Ill buy it or not.

    the story is amazing, didn't expect it from a puzzle game. but they should've remove the first 3 stages of the 9th floor, at least for the easy mode, they kept pissing me off

    @calvinsora: I know, but it's still pretty inexcusable, and I couldn't imagine any other game getting away with it, with such dismissal. I did buy it, and while I was venting after getting my ass kicked, I still think this game is getting a bit too much love, just because it's "quirky" and very Japanese. The controls are a bit of a mess, although admittedly not as bad as I made them out to be, but still a glaring issue. The story is cool, but some of the stuff doesn't fit with the choices you make, and comes off a bit superficial. It's also pretty short, for a story based game. It's original, sure, but no 8.5. Personally I'd give it around a 7. A Rental at best.

    @8ball234: MP was never this game's focus, so it's not even a factor to the score. If this was an FPS, maybe, but it's a puzzle game. Has nothing to do with it being original or quirky, Kevin thinks this is a great game regardless.

    This game looks like a lot of fun. Usually I don't like anime but I'm realizing more and more that it just takes a go writer with a western sense of humor for me to enjoy it. I feel like most anime try's to create humor by being awkward while western humor is more about surprising wit.

    This game is a joke. It's almost broken. The puzzles are fine, but the controls are a joke. No 360 degree camera, in a game that absolutely requires it. Fail. The controls are ridiculous. Just try naturally swinging yourself around a cube, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Left goes right, right goes left, up sometimes just doesn't work at all. It's a mess. Later on in the game, the camera just does whatever it wants, and you can't even see where the hell you are half the time. Sure, it's original, but that doesn't mean it's good. I can't believe the scores this game is getting. Don't believe the hype. This game sucks. You have to "unlock" multiplayer? If that was in any other game, it'd be an automatic 5.0. Oh, but it's some quirky Japanese game, so it's ok. What a bunch of crap. Save your money.

    that the game is hard is one of the many good to play a game: challenge. it sounds like most people that doesn't like this isn't into puzzling games and by that aspect alone i can understand why that person would not enjoy it. However this is no reason to call the game "bad" because it just dosen't fit your taste. personally my reasons for getting this game is immense challenge that way to few games actually give these days. (demon's souls is of course an exception, hardest game ive played on the ps3).second reason to get this is the anime aspect and story. i mean if you don't like anime or puzzles this is obviously not the game for you. i find myself interested, i just hope that the different endings and the different ways the game reacts to your personal choices is huge and makes it a game that you wanna play again not just because you want a higher score or things like that but because u get a totally different retelling of the story.
