SOCIAL MOBILES

SOCIAL MOBILES

Artist : CRISPIN JONES with IDEO

[Summary]The work is composed of 5 mobile phones that have differing functions. Each work is made up of the critical mentality and humor directed against the mobile phone culture, and to use this medium as a basis of expression revealed a maturation of this media genre, and left us with a very favorable impression of the work. A method is used where there is modification in the resolution of information which only responds to another's sound with the sound of an instrument, and of information in which the medium multiplexes such as an electrical exchange other than audio. Amidst many media art-like works that use sensors and projectors, this work carries out humor to its fullest, and was evaluated for its competence as a fully finished product.

TextArc print:Alice's Adventure in Wonderland

Artist:W Bradford Paley

[Summary] This was a novel work amidst the many personal imagined scenery work found in the area of still digital images. The complete version of "Alice in Wonderland" was printed in a large oval in the smallest possible legible writing. According to the frequency of use of the words, the words are written on the inner surface of the oval with the sequence of the letters changed. Of course, the words "Alice" and the "King" can be seen, but the size of these words are placed at an equidistance from the place the letters have been used, and the words that appear throughout the entire book are placed more towards the center. This work is a result of an extremely intuitive analysis in graphic form, which expression has only been made possible with computer usage. Simultaneously, this work lets us enjoy the graphics as well.

Crayon Shinchan, Arashi o Yobu Appare! Sengoku Dai-gassen

Crayon Shinchan,
Arashi o Yobu Appare! Sengoku Dai-gassen

Artist : Keiichi Hara

[Summary]Maximising the gag sense of the original manga characters, and coupling it with excellent scripting and directing, this feature length animation movie series "Crayon Shinchan" has maintained the content and high quality to be fully enjoyed by adults as well as children. Last year's "Otona Teikoku no Gyakushuu" was a wonderful work, containing a perfect perspective of era, and this "Arashi wo yobu appare! Senngoku daigassen" is a feelingly pleasant film. Although the kids take active roles in the film, it does not flatter the children audience, and we highly applaud the sensitivity of the work.

SEXY VOICE AND ROBO

SEXY VOICE AND ROBO

Artist : Iou Kuroda

[Summary]This author's "Nasu" series has been highly appraised, but the lively writing of the "SEXY VOICE AND ROBO" creates a whole new world. This work is set in the present Japanese city and is about the many people living in the unexpected setting and interacting with the main characters. The dynamic city fantasy story unfolds and develops as the young attractive fourteen-year old girl involves her male partner into her life. The descriptive style of the writing is very unique to the author, and the brushstrokes are excellent and we can thoroughly enjoy the work to the four corners of the screen.
