Dolphins DB Reshad Jones had a productive performance in Week 2 against the Texans. He recorded six total tackles and also collected his first sack of the season in the 23-13 loss.

The Dolphins signed DL Igor Olshansky to a one-year contract on Tuesday. Olshansky was cut by the Cowboys prior to the start on the season.

The Patriots released eight players on Friday in anticipation of Saturday's roster deadline. The Patriots released veteran LB Ricky Brown, OL Jonathan Compas and DL Darryl Richard; first-year players TE Carson Butler and WR Buddy Farnham and rookie free agents OL Mike Berry, RB Richard Medlin and OL Corey Woods

Dolphins WR Marlon Moore posted his first career receiving touchdown in Week 12 against the Raiders. Moore was on the receiving end of a Chad Henne 57-yard strike in the third quarter. He caught the pass along the right sideline and slipped past DB Walter McFadden's tackle and walked into the end zone. It was his only catch in the 33-17 win.

In a surprising move, the Dolphins placed the franchise tag on defensive tackle Paul Soliai on Thursday. Soliai is guaranteed a one-year deal at the average of the five highest-paid players at his position (roughly $12.5 million) for 2011, and the Dolphins would receive two first-round picks if they opt to not match an offer from another team for him.

The Colts made the following cuts on Saturday: DB Al Afalava, WR Chris Brooks, DE John Chick, LB Chris Colasanti, TE Tyson DeVree, DT John Gill, WR David Gilreath, DB Michael Hamlin, DT Tommie Harris, RB Javarris James, DB Brandon King, DT Ricardo Mathews, TE Michael Matthews, WR Larrone Moore, LB Kerry Neal, DT Ollie Ogbu, QB Dan Orlovsky, WR Taj Smith, LB Nate Triplett, LB Vuna Tuihalamaka and WR Marshall Williams.

The Sun-Sentinel reports RB Daniel Thomas, who is listed as questionable for Week 6 at N.Y. Jets with a lingering hamstring injury, can't go into great detail about his status because of Dolphins' policies, but he hinted after limited reps in practice this week that he is ready to play again. “It feels very good just to know that I’m finally going to get to play. It’s very encouraging and exciting, man," he said.

Hamstring - Questionable for Week 6 at N.Y. Jets

Dolphins RB Reggie Bush will be looking to play a larger role in the offense in Week 6 against the Jets. Bush has gotten off to a slow start this season, racking up just 195 total yards and a touchdown through the first four games. The Jets enter Sunday's contest ranked 26th in rush defense, allowing 134.8 yards per game. New York has surrendered eight touchdowns on the ground and are allowing an average of 22.6 Fantasy points to opposing RBs on the season.

WR Brandon Marshall said on Thursday that he’s been on good behavior this season but said that will change this week when he “probably” gets ejected in the second quarter. According to Dolphins RapidReporter Chris Perkins, he seemed serious. He repeated the claim three times in a 12-minute media session. Marshall said he’s going to have “fun” on Monday Night Football. “I don't know if it's throwing a football 15 yards into the bleachers and getting a 15-yarder or punting the ball and getting thrown out of the game but something's going to happen. I'll probably get kicked out after the second quarter."

The Dolphins placed rookie DE Jared Odrick on injured reserve with a foot injury.
