On November 3rd, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Complete Season One comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, giving you a chance to revisit the first 22 episodes of the series in unparalleled depth and clarity (see the announcement here). Here's a tour of some of the content you'll find inside -- but this list is by no means exhaustive. The galaxy of The Clone Wars is full of surprises, and both standard definition DVD and high definition Blu-ray sets offers hours of exploration!

A Note About Aspect Ratios
These sets are the only place to see The Clone Wars in the full widescreen aspect ratio the television show is produced in. While the network broadcasts are presented in widescreen rectangular format, these versions are even wider, like the Star Wars movies, with more imagery stretching beyond the edges of the frame. "Ambush" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 1)
Jedi Master Yoda and three clone troopers -- Jek, Thire, and Rys -- must face off against Count Dooku's dreaded assassin Ventress and her massive droid army to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect a strategic planet and forge a treaty for the Republic.

"Rising Malevolence" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 1)
An attack by a devastating new Separatist weapon leaves Jedi Master Plo Koon and his clone troopers struggling to survive until Anakin and Ahsoka can find them. This is a director's cut episode, with a longer running time of never before seen animation.

"Shadow of Malevolence" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 1)
With the help of his Padawan Ahsoka and Jedi Master Plo Koon, Anakin utilizes new long-range Y-wing bombers to lead a bold strike on General Grievous' warship, the Malevolence, and its destructive weapon. This is a director's cut episode, with a longer running time of never before seen animation.

  • Featurette (DVD & Blu-ray; 7:44) The production staff discusses ship designs including the Malevolence, Y-wing fighters, medical base, and the ion cannon.

  • Jedi Temple Archives (Blu-ray) An enhanced playback mode allows access to a trove of behind-the-scenes extras, including early Balmorra run and nebula concept art, an Anakin Skywalker animation test and a Y-wing fighter digital model turntable.

  • Concept Art (Booklet in both sets) Alternate ship designs for the Republic medical frigates, and schematic cutaway view of the Y-wing fighter cockpit and tailgunner station.

"Destroy Malevolence" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 1)
Padmé Amidala and C-3PO are taken hostage by General Grievous, leaving Anakin and Obi-Wan to save the Senator and complete the destruction of the Malevolence.

  • Featurette (DVD & Blu-ray; 5:14) Exploring the internal design of the Malevolence and the sound design of its inner workings.

"Rookies" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 1)
Alone on a distant outpost, clone officers Rex and Cody must inspire their rookie unit to believe in themselves to stave off a droid commando invasion. This is a director's cut episode, with a longer running time of never before seen animation.

  • Featurette (DVD & Blu-ray; 7:15) The crew discusses the importance of differentiating clones via design, voice performance, and how the production strategically reuses assets when necessary.
