On November 3rd, Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season One comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, giving you a chance to revisit the first 22 episodes of the series in unparalleled depth and clarity (see the original announcement here). Here's a tour of some of the content you'll find inside -- but this list is by no means exhaustive. The galaxy of The Clone Wars is full of surprises, and both standard definition DVD and high definition Blu-ray sets offers hours of exploration!

A Note About Aspect Ratios
These sets are the only place to see The Clone Wars in the full widescreen aspect ratio the television show is produced in. While the network broadcasts are presented in widescreen rectangular format, these versions are even wider, like the Star Wars movies, with more imagery stretching beyond the edges of the frame. "Downfall of a Droid" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 2)
R2-D2 is lost during a fierce space battle -- and Anakin must find him before the Separatists discover the Jedi military secrets locked in his memory banks.

"Duel of the Droids" (Blu-ray Disc 1; DVD Disc 2)
Anakin, Ahsoka and replacement droid R3-S6 embark on a dual rescue/sabotage mission when they discover R2-D2 is being held at General Grievous' secret enemy listening post.

  • Featurette (DVD & Blu-ray; 7:01) The production staff discusses the Skytop Station design, astromech droid designs, and the battle dynamics between General Grievous and Ahsoka.

"Bombad Jedi" (Blu-ray Disc 2; DVD Disc 2)
Jar Jar Binks is a Jedi Knight? So thinks the Separatists when comically heroic Gungan and C-3PO fight to save Padmé Amidala from doom at the hands of evil Viceroy Nute Gunray.

  • Featurette (DVD & Blu-ray; 7:35) The production staff discusses new character design challenges and the animation of Jar Jar Binks.

  • Jedi Temple Archives (Blu-ray) An enhanced playback mode allows access to a trove of behind-the-scenes extras, including a live action vs. animation C-3PO comparison test, an animatic reel of the swamp chase sequence, and early Padmé design sketches.

"Cloak of Darkness" (Blu-ray Disc 2; DVD Disc 2)
Ahsoka and Jedi Master Luminara escort captured Viceroy Nute Gunray to trial, unaware that Count Dooku has dispatched his deadly apprentice assassin Asajj Ventress to free the prisoner and eliminate the Jedi.

  • Featurette (DVD & Blu-ray; 5:47) An exploration of Luminara Unduli, from her character design, to her lightsaber, to her relationship with Ahsoka.

"Lair of Grievous" (Blu-ray Disc 2; DVD Disc 2)
General Grievous must prove himself worthy of the Separatists when Count Dooku leads Jedi Master Kit Fisto and his former Padawan, the Mon Calamari Jedi Nahdar Vebb to Grievous' villainous enclave.This is a director's cut episode, with a longer running time of never before seen animation.
