ive worked with Martin several times...he has stormed every gig...i'd rather spend an hour in the company of him than a self-righteous critic who has no real idea of comedy other than his pure subjective experience. One good thing...at least the critic used a dated picture of Martin...getting him when he still had his looks....:-) (...and no, I never missed the irony either by the way Martin....)...Top man.... paul garvey, April 2011 |
Hello it's Martin Beaumont here. I do not really care for crits. They don't bother me,rneveryone is entitled to their opinion. However this review states that my material is dated. This crit is from 1998 the photograph used for me is from 2001. Can anyone else spot the irony here? Because I have dared to crit the crit I expect a nasty review or to be ignored. The first time I met Martin he was the MC in Glasgow Jongleurs and from that time I've come across him along the road to paid spots their and doing other gigs the last of which I was the MC and he headlined and did 50 minutes of qaulity. So whether in a big gig or a smaller one he is seasoned act who always gives support to other acts and in my eyes the level one day in years to come i hope to strive to. Qaulity,Sesoned,Headliner and one of the nicest guys ive ever met. Del Strain., July 2007 |
Definately one of the best at the Courtyard, Hereford, in the last 12 months colin the courtyard king, February 2007 |
Anyone who's starred in 'Dream Team' is alright with me. I Saw Martin last night, and he had some great gags that won over the audience early on. He had a warm, and friendly delivery. Steve, January 2006 |
Saw him on Monday night in harrogate and I was in absolute stitches. Highly funny and to be honest, the material didn't seem too dated to me. Unless I have just heard it for the first time? His stuff on writing lyrics to famous movie theme tunes nearly had me falling off my seat Kevin Jackson, December 2005 |
I saw him handle a mad audience of grannies and drunks to great effect, and yes his stuff is a bit dated but he comes across as warm and self deprecating. John, October 2003 |
Martin has compered at my club on many occasions and has become a firm favourite with me and the regular crowd. He has never once failed to set up a great evening and he is also one of the warmest guys on the circuit. Alaric Dynevor, June 2003 |
