Marcus Brigstocke: Get A Life
This show has not yet got a description.
Original Review:
Talented character comic Marcus Brigstocke wheels out an impressive armoury of well-crafted creations for this intelligently funny look at the world of therapy. Through piercingly-sharp observations and genuine inventiveness, Brigstocke casts a cynical eye at the psychobabble that infests the eternal quest for happiness. This versatile performer's cast of grotesques starts with the unsullied Baby, naturally in a state of contentment, if not continence, and ranges from Dr Greg Dupont, counsellor to the stars, to Giles, the gap year twit. Brickstocke also expounds an intriguing philosophy of his own, based on the Rubik's cube, that demonstrates a sharp mind as well as keen comic skills. Frequently hilarious, the show, however, falters when a misjudged phone conversation between Dr Greg Dupont and his showbiz clients drains the momentum from the proceedings ten minutes from the end. But the pace thankfully picks up again, building up to an outrageous finale that had the audience in hysterics. |
