Halo Fest - Celebrating Ten Years



UPDATE - August 14, 2011

This weekend IGN announced the tournament schedule for Halo Fest! These awesome tournaments are being run by our friends from Fight Like a Girl (http://flagtournament.com), the organization that has raised thousands of dollars for charity through the fun of Halo play. The FLAG team will be running tournaments throughout the weekend in the Halo Fest space at PAX Prime, including a Firefight Score Attack challenge which will raise money to fight breast cancer. Check below for the complete schedule and remember to keep coming back for new information!

Friday, August 26th

Anniversary 4v4 Team Slayer
First Round
10:00am-12:00pm
Bracketed, single elimination - First Round of the two day event. First Strike! Jump into the fray as teams of four compete in a single-elimination tournament featuring: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Saturday, August 27th

Anniversary 4v4 Team Slayer
10:00am-12:00pm
Bracketed, single elimination - Final Round of the two day event. Enter the melee Saturday morning with a 4v4, single-elimination tournament featuring Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Reach Racing
12:00pm-1:00pm
8 person races, race maps provided by Halo community member CruelLEGACEY. Hit the track Saturday afternoon in an eight person race through Halo: Reach's most popular forged race tracks.

Reach Forge Contest
1:00pm-2:30pm
3-4 Challenges. I need a hammer! Compete against other players to create the best forge map in Halo: Reach.


Sunday, August 28th

FLAG Firefight
11:00am-1:00pm
Beat the best score! Compete to earn the highest score in Halo: Reach Firefight.

Entry Fee: $10 (all proceeds go to fight breast cancer)

Bracketed, single elimination. Ransack the enemy base in a 4v4, single elimination tournament featuring: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Halo: Anniversary

The team responsible for the 2011 reimagining of the classic Xbox title pull back the curtain on the process behind bringing Halo: Anniversary to gamers. Panelists include Executive Producer Dan Ayoub, Producer Dennis Ries, Franchise Development Director Frank O’Connor, Franchise Manager Kevin Grace, and more!

Kick your PAX weekend off right by hanging out with some of Halo’s most dedicated Community leaders. To vote on your favorite Machinima film or Forge creation please visit the Halo Facebook page, make sure you Like it, and then enter Halo Fest Contests. Here you can select the Forge or Machinima contest app and browse the entries. When you find the one that strikes your fancy and want to cast your vote, simply click the thumbnail of the entry you like best and press the Vote button below it. Two awesome contests for Halo Fest have been announced! Are you a Machinima magician? A fabulous Forge artist? Then read on:

Forge Contest
Use the Forge mode within Halo: Reach to create a work of art that represents the Halo universe. Submit your art, and you could win an Acme Archives art-quality print of your submission, plus a trophy!

Machinima Contest
Submit your short film based upon Halo game footage, and you could win a walk-on voice-acting role, get your name and winning piece showcased on a Website, and take home a trophy!

To get more information and participate in the contests, please visit the Halo Facebook page, make sure you Like it, and then enter “Halo Fest Contests,” available on the left sidebar. From there you can go to either the Forge or Machinima contest app, both of which could get you fabulous prizes!
