Your Global Voice for Radiation Processing

The International Irradiation Association (iiA) has a fourfold vision: to advance the safe use of irradiation technologies; engage and educate the public and regulators about those technologies; strengthen irradiation advocacy on a regional basis through collaboration with groups such as FIPA (the Food Irradiation Processing Alliance), GIPA (the Gamma Industry Processing Alliance) and the PANEL on gamma and electron irradiation; and unite the leadership of our industry through a strong, elected board of directors representing different geographic regions and modes of radiation technology.

Information. Influence. Innovation.

On the web, in our monthly newsletter and through a variety of other materials including position papers, we communicate business-critical information to irradiation industry members to support their strategic decision-making. In partnership with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), we're developing a booklet on ebeam technology.

We represent members at the IAEA and host innovative events including workshops on drug-device irradiation and the leadership of the industry's premier conference, the International Meeting on Radiation Processing (IMRP).

We deal at the international level with issues such as cobalt-60 transportation-which transcends regional borders-and contribute to the expansion of the industry through work in such areas as Sterility Assurance Levels (SALs), which may introduce new products for radiation sterilization.
