Try Global Agenda on pc. It's another TF2, but with jetpacks. Best of all? It's free unless you want to pay a little money to level faster/unlock some nonessential things.

It's interesting to see we share the same sentiments about this game, Bryan.
In many forums people are also raging about the lag and calling it gamebreaking. I've got a 20 mbps connection and if I can play Reach, Black Ops and Homefront without any lag then there shouldn't be any in Brink. Their release-day patch (and Installing the game on the 360) does fix some of the texture pop in issues which were bad, but also an indication that the game has a non-finished/not-enough-polish kind of feel.
I really want to love this game, but at the same time I don't. I cannot agree with you more on the "Rent it" rating. Until they fix some of the issues and add more modes it's just going to feel like an incomplete package with a lot of wasted potential.

Damn.... I had super high hopes for this game when I saw it a year ago. I've been waiting on this like Socom 4 which I have yet to see anything on from Jose or Bryan. WTF guys. Is playstation games completely out of the question?

I only got to play 2 hours of Portal2 online and didn't get to play any MK9 matches.
I think the real question here would be if Brink would play better on the PSN by the time it gets back, since SD might patch it by then.

I'm certainly pissed with Sony. They should have had a back up plan to this years ago. I cannot believe they didn't think someone would hack their mainframe. The only thing that pissed me off more was I completed Castlevania 100% the night that Portal, MK and Socom dropped. Then days later this **** happened. I wouldn't have worried about getting the plat if I knew this would happen.
I'm glad though I waited on MK. I was able to find it on Craigslist for $35 and the guy lived two miles away from me. He never used any of the codes for the online. Pretty much I saved $30 so this guy could try it out... I love stupid people.

XBL nor Nintendo Wi-Fi have backups in case they get hacked, so it's extremely unfair to expect that of Sony.

Who's the founder of Microsoft? And Nintendo being the pioneers of the video game industry don't even have a reason to be hacked. Nintendo's problem is Emulators. Nintendo has been in the industry for quite some time and probably have a back-up plan for certain situation. Microsoft knows OS systems and pretty much already have everything encrypted from the start. Nothing half assed.
Sony... they are the idiot savant of the gaming industry. Good plan but not fully thought out.

Side note.... I re-read what I put but couldn't edit. Two things... 1.Don't take what I said the wrong way, it just sounded bad after the fact. 2.Nintendo does have a reason to be hacked because it's the pioneers and technology they put out but not destroy what they have built. There isn't much they could get any Wii owners.

I agree but it's mostly the reason to be hacked. Besides arrogance that Sony has, people acquire more from Sony's recovery mode, system updates and various other things. Microsoft and Nintendo tend to secure their systems well enough that it can't be duplicated.

i guess in the gaming industry sony does more experimenting more than anything, if you look at their record most of what they did were major gambles. it just happened to have paid off so well but then there were things that they didnt go so well, i guess u could say this is one of those things

yeah i wish this review was up sooner. but then again i just had to be one of those, well i need to get away from MK so i think i'll get this new game that isn't seeming to fly off the selfs. i was hoping that this game would have a bigger story and better gameplay. oh well i'll just trade it in when i go to pick up LA Noire. No mister Gamestop employ; it doesn't work.

I have to agree. The only real thing I see that is the norm or generic with Brink is the massive amounts of customization and the whole free movement system which I heard is not really that impressive.
