Are you ready for "WAR-EN-SEM-BLE"?
This is the second greatest album on the face of the earth, (#1 Reign In Blood).
SEASONS IS DEFINITELY A MASTER PIECE!
I would agree with Apocalypse on that one, South being just under for a number 3 slot on most days, Skeletons is one of my actual favorite songs of all time.

i walk, step by step with Death, where all blungeoned bodies lie, you will see my face of rage, cut your heart out of your chest, leaving impaled the consumation of Mankind.
Definitely one of the top 3 best Slayer records. More variety and more complex songs than the previous two albums. Just can't decide if this is better than South Of Heaven or vice versa. Who cares? They both kick more ass than 90% of today's bands anyways.
Once bying and listening to south of heaven I thaught fuck can you guys get any better, but you proved that you can but with a more mellow style which was good to hear which had abit less mellow than south of heaven though. Clear stand outs are "War Ensemble" "Dead Skin Mask" and "Skeletons of Society"
Again Slayer prove it doesn't have to be a million miles an hour to be quality thrash. A varied album with different styles of song writing which was a breath of fresh air at the time. No other band comes close to Slayer when they come up with albums like this. Long may they continue....
This album was a definitive piece of work for SLAYER in my opinion.
They took what they had done before (the speed of R.i.B., the rawness of H.A., and the toned down feel of S.o.H.), and totally brought forth this monster of a great musical masterpiece in the "Heavy Metal" world.
How can you NOT get into this album? Every time I hear 'War Ensemble', or 'Seasons in the Abyss', or 'Skeletons of Society'... any of the tracks, I get chills from the pure aggression, and feeling that they put into every minute of this album.
Probably one of the best Slayer record with Reign in Blood, my two favorite in my opinion with lots of classic songs like war, blood red, spirit, expendable, dead, hallowed, born & seasons.
A big master piece of thrash metal.
This album is an excellent piece of composition, has varied elements of previous albums; which weaves together very well. It is executed perfectly providing songs such as War Ensemble, Seasons In the Abyss, Skeletons of Society which are pinnacles of Slayer's work. One of my favourite albums, and I think one of Slayer's best albums.
the perfect combination of "reign" and "south"
"dead skin mask" is a absolutely masterpiece an one of the top five slayer song ever.
and the riff of "skeletons of society" is so unbelievable heavy and dark. drives me fuckin' mad
spirit in black , the lyrics are a useful tool to torment the christian kids in high school. I wrote the lyrics on desks, recruited a lot of slayer fans back then, wore a slayer shirt every day!!
This is my good lady's favourite as she loves 'Blood red'. And who could blame her. Another classic effort from Slayer. A great mix of different sounds but still as heavy as ever...
Just over a week to go now till the tour starts up again. I will see Slayer on the 29th May in Birmingham. Can't wait. It would be awesome if they played Seasons on this date. Great album and not a bad song on there. Here's hoping....
They played the song 'Seasons' and it was amazing. I really hope they can bring the 'Seasons' album commemoration tour thing over to the U.K. Would be awesome to see the album played in it's entirety live....
OK I've now seen tha amazing Slayer on the WPB tour. Now I want them to come back to the UK with the 'Seasons' set. Loads of classic songs on that album that don't get player live anymore....
Again, this album divided the fans. For my part, I thought this album was great. Sure there was a newer 'chart friendly' approach to some of the songs. But they were as good as anything else Slayer had done. They just showed a different style which freshened up Slayers sound. Like anyone else I prefer the fast stuff but appreciate the change of pace from time to time. Great tunes are still great tunes and this album is full of 'em.....
This is, in my opinion, the best Slayer album. Reign in Blood is more aggressive and intense but this is just more mature and it doesn't have RiB's biggest flaw: it's length. Here they combine RiB and South of Heaven to make the perfect Slayer album.
