While the FIFA World Cup™ is undoubtedly the most watched and popular sporting event in the world, with many countries dedicating significant resources to both bidding for and hosting the event, FIFA recognises that not all countries have the capacity or hosting capabilities for an event of this scale.

Most member associations do, however, have the potential to bid for and host FIFA’s Other World Cups, which provide a great opportunity to develop the game. These events, which carry the prestigious title of a ’FIFA’ World Cup, are designed to help showcase the best teams in the world in different age groups and gender categories. They include:

  • FIFA Women’s World Cup™
  • FIFA U-20 World Cup
  • FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup
  • FIFA U-17 World Cup
  • FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup
  • FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup
  • FIFA Futsal World Cup

Bidding for and hosting these events can deliver a range of benefits to member associations and their respective countries, which are not just limited to football, but span many wider stakeholders.
