So what do I need to use ScrewAttack.com?
To use ScrewAttack.com fully you must have Cookies and Javascript enabled. ScrewAttack.com supports the five (5) major browsers and some not-so-mainstream browsers as well. Please view the question "What browsers, mobile phones, PDA's, etc... are supported?" for a list of specific browsers.

Certain parts of the site such as posting comments or posting in blogs require you to register for an account with a valid e-mail address. Don't worry the account is free and we will not give your information away or sell it. If you wish to register for an account please click here. You can also view our Rules in case you care about legal mumbo jumbo.

How do I enable Cookies and/or Javascript?
This operation varies from browser to browser. Instead of us keeping a list of all the browsers an their settings please visit the following links on info on how to enable Cookies and Javascript. If those do not provide you an answer you may try searching on Google.com. Please read the next section for specific issues caused by add-ons like NoScript for Firefox.

My browser is throwing all kinds of Javascript Errors or nothing works when I click on anything! WTF is going on?!?
This operation varies from browser to browser. Instead of us keeping a list of all the browsers an their settings please visit the following links on info on how to enable Cookies and Javascript. If those do not provide you an answer you may try searching on Google.com. Please read the next section for specific issues caused by add-ons like NoScript for Firefox. The following items should be set to Always Allowed:

  • *.screwattack.com - Master Libraries
  • *.googleapis.com - Library Dependencies
  • *.google.com - For other stuff like stats tracking. Be nice and enable please so we know how much traffic we get :-)

If you are still having issues please clear your browser's cache so that it will be forced to redownload the Javascript libraries. Also check that your Anti-virus software is not messing with them either. We will not do anything bad to your computer, ever.

What browsers, mobile phones, PDA's, etc... are supported?
Officially Supported Browsers (Versions):

  • Mozilla Firefox (2.0+, 3.0+)
  • Internet Explorer (6.5+, 7.0+, 8.0+)
  • Opera (9.20+)
  • Safari (Mac 2+ & 3.1+; Windows 3.1+)
  • Google Chrome (1.0+)

Note: Beta and other non-released versions of broswers are not and will not be checked for compatibility until they are released to the public. By using a beta version of any browser you may experience problems with certain aspects of ScrewAttack.com.

Other non-major browsers such as Avant and many mobile phone/PDA browsers are supported on an experimental basis only. We do not actively test any browser that is not listed above. However, some functionality will work in these browsers but there is no guarantee that the site will appear and operate properly in these browsers. For best results please use one of the browsers listed above.

If you notice any problems such as comments or blog posting not operating properly or if the site just does not render properly please send us an email to problems@ScrewAttack.com. Please include as much information as possible such as errors and error codes.

I registered for an account and I never recieved an activation e-mail!
If you are sure that you typed in the correct e-mail address please check your junk or spam folder to see if the email poped up in there. Some free e-mail services (i.e. GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail) like to eat our e-mails for some reason. They must make a tasty snack.

If you have checked there and the e-mail is no where to be found you can have another activation e-mail sent to you by logging in with the username and password you registered with. This will prompt the hamsters in the system to send your activation e-mail to you again. Please be patient as it can take awhile for the e-mail to be recieved but in most cases the e-mail should show up in your account within a few minutes of you sending the request.

If all else fails and you are at your wit's end then feel free to contact problems@ScrewAttack.com.

You haven't answered my question! What now?! If you still have questions about anything on ScrewAttack.com and the answers are not listed here please peruse our forums or visit the Contact Us page and shoot us an e-mail or send us a pretty postcard from somewhere exotic. Any emails sent off-topic or not related to ScrewAttack.com will be ignored and discarded.
