Manchester United's Ryan Giggs has not ruled out the possibility of extending his career with the Red Devils by another season.

The 37-year-old is the last of the famed Class of 92 to still be playing for United following the retirements of Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.

However, the former Wales international has been hit by a spate of allegations over his private life that led some to speculate that Giggs might call it a day at the end of the current campaign.

Yet it seems the most decorated player in English football history - who is approaching 900 United appearances - has no thoughts of hanging up his boots just yet.

And, ahead of United’s crucial Barclays Premier League trip to Liverpool on Saturday, Giggs has confirmed he will be speaking to Sir Alex Ferguson about his future after Christmas.

"After Christmas I will go to Ferguson’s office and we’ll talk about my renewal," Giggs said.

"I have a wonderful relationship with him. He’s an exceptional person. He is always the first to arrive in the morning and is always willing to listen.

"I have spoken to him for a few minutes about extending my contract for another year.

"I want to play again, I care for nothing more than playing for my team."
