David and Victoria Beckham post first photos of new baby girl

International soccer star David Beckham and wife Victoria yesterday gave the world a first look at their newborn daughter, Harper Seven, in tender black-and-white shots showing the proud parents snuggling with the baby.

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham delivered Harper July 10, and the happy couple yesterday posted pictures on Facebook and Twitter.

In the Twitter shot, the caption reads "Daddy's little girl."

Late last week, the couple revealed the reasons behind their baby's unusual name.

They liked Harper because it's a traditional British name and pays respect to Posh's favorite book, "To Kill a Mockingbird," by Harper Lee.

"Seven" was a little more obvious.

"A lot of people have assumed that it's just because it was my shirt number that I wore for many years, and part of it is," said Beckham, 36.

"The other reasons behind 'Seven' were because it symbolizes spiritual perfection -- seven wonders of the world, seven colors of the rainbow -- and in many cultures around the world, it's regarded as a lucky number. We love the name. We love Harper Seven."

Harper Seven is the couple's first girl after three boys: Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 6.

And, says mama Posh, 37: "Baby Harper is the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen!"

"Having a daughter is a whole new thing. Having pink in the house, having lilac in the house," Beckham says in an online video.

"You have to be a lot more delicate with girls than boys, and I'm not used to that, so it's a whole new experience."
