Simple Plan's heartfelt ode to 'Jet Lag'

Considering they've toured the world a zillion times, it's no surprise that Montreal pop-punks Simple Plan have devoted a whole song on their new album, "Get Your Heart On!" (out June 21), to the subject of jet lag and the effect it has on the hearts of band dudes when they're separated from the ones they love.

Check out the new music video for the single "Jet Lag" (featuring Natasha Bedingfield):

SP has also recorded a version of the song - partially en Francais - with fellow French-Canadian singer Marie-Mai. Even if you don't speak French, it's quite nice listening to the lyrics in another language.

Especially pleasing about this new disc - aside from the songs themselves - is that the band has returned to form with another jokey/double entendre album title. "Get Your Heart On!" might actually be better than their previous efforts, "No Pads, No Helmuts...Just Balls" and "Still Not Getting Any..." There's a publicity photo awaiting release that will completely prove that, while they might've taken a more sober approach to 2008's self-titled disc, they never lost an ounce of their humor.

The guys will be in New York doing a special album release show at Gramercy Theatre on June 21, with tickets going on sale tomorrow. I predict they'll sell out fast, so be sure you're ready to hit "buy" at 10 am. (But wait until I get mine first.) If you miss these tickets, they'll be on Warped Tour this summer,

On a personal note, I can't believe it's already been close to a decade since I first encountered SP when they stopped at my college while on tour with Sugar Ray. They could not be nicer, more genuine or less pretentious if they really really really tried and that's why I've been a loyal fan all these years. They are more tattooed, though, that's true.

Oh, why not? Here's Simple Plan behaving true to form in the previously released video for the album's first single, "Can't Keep My Hands Off You" (featuring Rivers Cuomo), which can be heard in the "Prom" movie that just came out.
