Former St. Peter's star O'Hare commits to Lafayette

5:41 PM, July 17, 2011 ι By MARC RAIMONDI

Staten Island native Jamie O’Hare, who will be one of the top seniors in New York City next season, has committed to play women’s basketball at Lafayette, her NYC Heat travel coach Kevin White told The Post on Sunday.

O’Hare, a Post All-City third team selection, led St. Peter’s to a 16th straight – and last – CHSAA Staten Island title in the winter. The school shut its doors for good in June due to financial difficulties and O’Hare will play next year at Moore Catholic. After that it will be Lafayette, which the sharpshooting 5-foot-5 guard chose over Wagner, Navy and Army, among others.

"Lafayette, I just wanted," O'Hare said. "It was my No. 1 pick. When I saw the school, it seemed perfect."
