Minnesota-Duluth captured the program's first title on Saturday just a couple of hours away from home. With three players as Duluth natives and 14 others from Minnesota, the victory couldn't be more sweet.
Kyle Schmidt scored 3:22 into overtime to give Minnesota-Duluth a 3-2 victory against Michigan in the Division I men's hockey championship game, the first national title for the Bulldogs.

Minn.-Duluth defeated Michigan 3-2 in overtime to win the Division I men’s ice hockey title. Kyle Schmidt’s 11th goal of the season capped the 14th OT game in championship history.
