The NCAA announced on Friday that a new Women’s Final Four ticket policy will provide the general public with the opportunity to purchase game tickets for the 2012 Women’s Final Four to be played in Denver. No longer will there be a public drawing for tickets, as interested fans will be able to select and purchase from the best locations available at all seating levels and price ranges.

Interested ticket buyers can provide their e-mail address in order to receive priority access to purchase game tickets for the 2012 Women’s Final Four. Tickets will include the national semifinals, which will be played on April 1, and the national championship game on April 3. All games played at the Pepsi Center. Ticket prices will be announced at a later date.

It will be the first time Denver has played host to the Women’s Final Four. Denver have a history of playing host to NCAA championship events, including the 2001 Midwest Regional and the 2006 first and second rounds of NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship. The Pepsi Center also played host to the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four in 2008 and games of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.

“We look forward to 2012 when the Women’s Final Four will be played in Denver for the first time and hope that our fans welcome the opportunity with this new ticket policy to get seats for the games,” said Marilyn McNeil, vice president and director of athletics at Monmouth University and chair of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee.

Women’s Final Four tickets may not be offered as a prize in a promotion, sweepstakes or contest, or auctioned for fundraising purposes unless authorized in advance by the NCAA.

The NCAA reminds fans that purchasing tickets from secondary unauthorized vendors may result in fraudulent purchases.
