News - Konami releases screens for Castlevania: Harmony of Despair

Konami's Castlevania: Harmony of Despair will be released as part of Microsoft's Summer of Arcade program this August 4. You can download it for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). To celebrate its upcoming release, Konami sent us five screenshots highlighting the game.

Unlike most recent console versions of Castlevania, Harmony of Despair is a return to the series' roots with 2D graphics, but rendered in glorious HD. Check out how it is coming along in the screens below:

Of course in this case, "HD" means "zoomed out". But nearly 100%-recycled art assets aside, I have to admit I'm intrigued by the chaotic combination of multiple old CV protagonists. It almost looks like castlevania smash brothers in there. (Of course, I have now XBox, so who knows if or when I'll ever get to play this.)
