A Scene From Life of Archbishop McNicholas

1934: “In October 1934, Archbishop [John T.] McNicholas presided at the investiture of two prominent Cincinnatians into the order of St. Gregory XVI. The Most Reverend Archbishop is shown here flanked by the two new Knights Commander, Sir William H. Albers and Sir Charles F. Willliams. The late Bishop Francis W. Howard of Covington is at the extreme right of the first row. In mitre is Bishop Joseph H. Albers, brother of the honored layman. The Auxiliary Bishop of Cincinnati (then Monsignor), the Most Rev.
