The National Museum of the United States Air Force hosts outdoor aviation events each year. Here is a list of upcoming events:

Freedom's Call Military Tattoo Freedom's Call Military Tattoo
June 24, 2011

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base celebrates freedom during the seventh annual Freedom's Call Military Tattoo. The event features live music by the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight, aircraft fly-overs and fireworks. Activities take place on the museum's back field. Gates open at 4 p.m. for pre-show activities, and the show begins at 8 p.m. FREE admission and parking.

 Jet World Masters 2011 Jet World Masters
July 27-Aug. 6, 2011

This international competition brings the best scale military and civilian turbine-powered radio-controlled model aircraft together to compete for the title of "Jet World Master." The event takes place on the runway behind the museum. Public activities will be announced closer to the event.

Giant Scale RC Air Show Giant Scale Radio-Controlled Model Aircraft Air Show
Sept. 2-4, 2011

See daring acrobatics performed by model jets, helicopters and warbirds during a three-day air show of giant scale radio-controlled aircraft on the runway behind the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. This event is hosted by the museum each year over Labor Day weekend and is sponsored by the Dayton Ohio Giant Scalers. Hours for the event are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. FREE admission and parking.

WWI Dawn Patrol Rendezvous World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous
Sept. 23-25, 2011

One of the nation's premier historical aviation events will bring the excitement and adrenaline of early air power to Ohio. The three-day World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous features vintage original and reproduction WWI aircraft, radio-controlled models, era automobiles, period re-enactors and a collector's show. This flying event is offered every other year by the museum and the Great War Aeroplanes Association. Hours for the event are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. FREE admission and parking.
