Advocacy involves efforts to educate, motivate, organize and empower Episcopalians to action for justice, peace and care for all of God’s creation. We are charged and empowered by General Convention and Executive Council through resolutions that direct the mission work of the church. These resolutions dictate the policies through which we seek and serve Christ, and advocate justice for all creation.

The Advocacy policy of the Episcopal Church can be broken down into three categories:

Socio-Economic Justice
At home and abroad, social and economic inequity breeds poverty, disease, violence and oppression. Socio-economic justice policy drives our work of racial justice, economic fairness and social outreach.

Environmental Justice
The Earth, and everything in it, is as much our neighbor as our fellow human beings. We live in fragile interdependence with all of God's creation. Environmental justice policy reminds us that ALL creation is good, and requires our attention and care.

Global Justice
Conflict and human rights abuses around the world lead to hunger, sickness, death and destruction. Our policies inform our work for justice and peace in the world.
