Our faith calls us to consider the impact of our present actions on future generations, other creatures, and the Earth. Sustainability provides for the current generation while ensuring adequate resources for the future. It can take many forms, from energy and transportation to green technology. [Smyrna-Vinings Patch.com] A small team of about 10 people at St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church in Smyrna, Georgia, is doing its part to make the church, and eventually the entire community, a greener place with the help of Georgia Interfaith Power and Light.

[Long Island (NY) Herald] A 500-square-foot organic garden now adorns a large portion of land at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Bellmore, New York. The space was seen as an opportunity to get the community outdoors and supply the less fortunate with healthy, fresh food.

[Twin Cities (MN) Pioneer Press] Our Community Kitchen at Ascension Episcopal Church in Stillwater, Minnesota, is offered in partnership with the Minnesota Statewide Health Improvement Program and the Land Stewardship Project. The pilot program is intended to increase access to fruits and vegetables in local diets; it has established relationships with nearby farmers and growers.
