Yakuza prequel movie online

Takeshi Miike-directed promo flick gets subtitled in English; first of four parts now available.

Yakuza doesn't arrive in stores until September, but Sega is prepping gamers for its release with a series of short films designed to flesh out the game's backstory. The European site for the game is now hosting the first of four shorts directed by shock auteur Takeshi Miike (viewers must be 18 or older). While Sega enlisted high-profile talent like Michael Madsen, Rachel Leigh Cook, and Mark Hamill to provide voices for the game, it opted to subtitle Miike's short in English.

The prolific Miike is no stranger to the game's subject matter, having put his own unique spin on the Yakuza genre with films like Dead or Alive, Gozu, Full Metal Yakuza, and Graveyard of Honor. Sega Europe hasn't detailed a time frame for the release of the other three episodes of Miike's prequel film, but they should be available by the game's September 15 European release date.

I hope they keep the original voice acting, but there may not be enough room on the disc.
I recall hearing something about a *possible* collector's addition on the Hot Spot, but so far, it doesn't seem like it's going to come into light. I was really looking forward to this game, but unless it scores in the nines, I may just boycott it if there is no option to hear the original Japanese voice acting.

What are you talking about Ryosagi?

If you can read and it has english subtitles then anybody should be able to understand it just fine. I mean I watched the short film with subtitles and understood it just as much as if it had English voice acting.

"I hope the game is subtitled in english.. because translations suck"

You do know that if it isn't translated, you wouldn't even be able to understand it, right? As if you bought the Japanese version with no English ANYTHING on there...

Ahhh. Good ol' Miike. Just when I think humanity has topped it's debauchery level, Miike goes 800 steps further.

(Except for Andromida. That was just terrible.)

Miike and Yakuza work very well. Gamespot not posting a link is just stupid on their part but I'm sure we'll find ways to acquire it in due time. I'll go check out a videogame journalism website for more info.

its really good, if the other three episodes are this long they will have a good length short on there hands. Pretty blooding during the gun fight on the streets.
