Bolton Wanderers forward Kevin Davies, 33, has been included in Fabio Capello’s England squad for the EURO 2012 qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley on 12 October 2010.
He won three Under-21 caps as a Southampton player and was a Youth International before that.
His first League football was with Third Division Chesterfield and he helped them to The FA Cup Semi-Finals in 1997, where they lost controversially to Middlesbrough. He played up front or as a wide midfielder.
He had two spells with Southampton, either side of one full season at Blackburn Rovers who had signed him for £7.5m, before being released in 2003.
A move to Sam Allardyce’s Bolton boosted his career and he played in their losing League Cup Final side, with Middlesbrough again the opponents, at Millennium Stadium in the following year.
He has been almost an ever-present in every Premier League season since joining ‘The Trotters’ and his brave and selfless play in attack has usually been rewarded with eight or nine goals in each campaign. He has made well over 250 appearances and been voted ‘Player of the Year’ three times.
