The AM Take

Like Las Vegas without the slot machines, this hotel is a high-voltage atmosphere where alcohol flows like water and tanned women in skimpy bikinis lounge around by the pool -- and in the lobby and bar as well. And, just like the Sin City, it wouldn’t be a party without bottle service. Make a reservation by the ping-pong tables outside or in Purple Lounge, the in-house bar/nightclub, for a weekend you’ll not soon forget, and if you’re looking for a meal after last call at the bars, check out the 24/7 Restaurant next to the lobby. It’s an old-school coffee shop, but it stays open all hours and it should do the trick. This is The Standard and its guests deserve nothing less.
The Scene
The Standard is a boutique hotel overlooking the Hollywood Hills, just a few miles away from the Walk of Fame and the epicenter of Los Angeles. Its strategic location is one of its key attributes. Across the street is Saddle Ranch, and down the road is Sky Bar, an establishment of Sunset Blvd. It is a bit of a hike to get to the beach, which is one of its drawbacks. However, The Standard more than makes up for it with its proximity to the hottest nightlife in town. Because it's near many historic landmarks, the scene around The Standard can at times get touristy. This can work for you or against you depending on your game and experience picking up women. The tourists are typically more approachable than the model/actress eye-candy that may be looking for more than you can offer.

The Bathroom Scale
Minimalist is a nice way to describe the bathrooms at The Standard. If you’re looking for anything more than the bare essentials, you may need to look elsewhere. The rooms, overall, are much more scaled-back than the lobby, restaurant and bars. However, these sacred places come equipped with organic bath products for the green-friendly consumer, and are Wi-Fi capable so that you can surf the net at your leisure. That being said, the bathrooms are somewhat reminiscent of our college dormitory, but not in a good way.
