It might sound exotic, but the bánh mì is really just a sandwich – a very tasty sandwich. It’s also one of the best bargains around, usually costing just a few dollars.
There are many variations of this delicious Vietnamese import, but most of them come on a crusty baguette and feature crispy pickled vegetables such as carrrots and daikon radishes, cucumber, cilantro, pâté and pork. Even though the best known versions are a pork-lover’s dream, you can even get a vegetarian take on the classic sandwich.
But who makes the best bánh mì in and around Atlanta? There are a growing number of restaurants that offer the Vietnamese treat, so let’s separate the great from the merely good. Tell us your favorite place to get a stellar bánh mì.
