Commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 15 moon landing at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, July 16, from 10 a.m-3 p.m.
The Aerospace Demonstration Stations will be focused around the principle of rocketry and space travel. The Aerospace Adventure will be from 1:30 p.m-3:00 p.m. in the second building where participants can build and launch paper rockets.
There will be model and high power rockets on display and visitors will have the opportunity to look at lunar samples through a microscope.
"Storytime" begins at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Early Years Gallery. Preschool and primary-grade children are invited to sit under the wings of airplanes and listen to stories about rockets and space while having the opportunity to make a paper rocket decorations.
All activities are free! No advanced reservations are necessary. Call the Education Division at (937) 255-4646 for additional information.
Note: Family Days are scheduled on the third Saturday of every month (second Saturday during December only), and programs are designed for children and adults of all ages. Specific age recommendations may vary by topic. Some "Aerospace Adventure" topics and activities may qualify as fulfillment for Boy Scout or Girl Scout badges.
